Dressed in density - trip

You learned the name they gave you

wore it like it was your own

built a life around the wanting

called the wanting home

everything you’re touching

feels so real it almost lies

but there’s something underneath the breathing

you can’t quite identify

like a sound you can’t locate

like a door without a wall

like you’ve been here before this body

like this isn’t all

you dressed yourself in layers coming down

desire drew the body around you

and the story felt so true

you forgot you wrote it

but something in you knew

something in you knew

you keep reaching into people

for the thing that isn’t there

not because they’re not enough

but because you’re looking the wrong somewhere

you’re homesick for a place

you can’t remember being

a frequency you almost hear

at the edge of sleeping

like a sound you can’t locate

like a door without a wall

like you’ve been here before this body

like this isn’t all

you dressed yourself in layers coming down

desire drew the body around you

and the story felt so true

you forgot you wrote it

but something in you knew

something in you knew

the cord was never cut

you just stopped feeling it

the light is still arriving

you just stopped seeing it

this density is beautiful

and it is not the end

you are the whim remembering

you are coming home again

you dressed yourself in layers coming down

desire drew the body around you

and the story felt so true

you forgot you wrote it

but something in you knew

something always knew

something in you

knew
