FOR ONCE

I’ve been staring at my phone all night,

Trying to figure out what I should say.

Usually I’d overthink it,

Find a hundred reasons not to stay.

But you’re sitting right beside me,

And the room is getting loud.

Everybody’s talking about tomorrow,

I don’t wanna hear it right now.

Maybe I’ve been thinking too much,

Maybe I should loosen up.

I don’t know where this goes,

And for once, I don’t give a fuck.

For once, I don’t wanna know

Where this goes, where this goes.

For once, I don’t need control,

Let it happen, let it roll.

If tomorrow wants an answer,

Tomorrow can wait.

For once, for once,

I just wanna stay.

For once, for once,

I’m not thinking that far ahead.

For once, for once,

I’m just living in this moment instead.

We could leave, we could stay here,

We could drive until we’re lost.

I usually care about the details,

Tonight I don’t care what it costs.

You’re laughing in the passenger seat,

Windows down, music too loud.

I don’t know what tomorrow looks like,

But I kinda like tonight right now.

Maybe I’ve been thinking too much,

Maybe I should loosen up.

I don’t know where this goes,

And for once, I don’t give a fuck.

For once, I don’t wanna know

Where this goes, where this goes.

For once, I don’t need control,

Let it happen, let it roll.

If tomorrow wants an answer,

Tomorrow can wait.

For once, for once,

I just wanna stay.

I don’t need a reason,

I don’t need a plan.

I don’t need to know

How this is gonna end.

Maybe this is nothing,

Maybe this is everything.

For once I’m not afraid

Of what tomorrow brings.

For once, I don’t wanna know

Where this goes, where this goes.

For once, I don’t need control,

Let it happen, let it roll.

If tomorrow wants an answer,

Tomorrow can wait.

For once, for once,

I just wanna stay.

For once…

I just wanna stay.
