Then Nikki came along, my gentle giant, my friend,

A mastiff with a love that never seemed to end.

My little piece of peace when I couldn't calm down.

Four paws on the floor, whole world in my hands.

Two beautiful souls, always right there.

One year later, Nimbus came through the door,

Big ol' pitbull, couldn't ask for more.

Strong and bulky, but a sweetheart inside,

Showed me real strength ain't something you hide.

That the softest hearts can be brave and bold.

People saw a pitbull, but I saw my friend,

A love so pure I never wanted it to end.

Running through the yard, chasing afternoon light,

Didn't know those moments would shape my life.

Nikki gave me courage to let my feelings show,

Nimbus gave me kindness everywhere I'd go.

Take me back to the days when the grass was green,

Two dogs by my side, living childhood dreams.

Before life got heavy, before I knew pain,

Before growing up meant everything would change.
