Wear that.

Take this.

Think that.

Nah.

I'll think for meself, thanks.

I grew up learning life's a game with no reset,

You get knocked down, get back up, that's the mindset.

Mum said, “Use your head,” Dad said, “Work hard,”

So I took both lessons and I played my cards.

I've seen blokes chase money till they're losing their soul,

Seen people buy a lifestyle just to look in control.

Everyone's shouting but nobody listens,

Everybody wants the prize, nobody wants the prison.

They tell you what's cool, what's dead, what's hot,

Who to follow, what to buy, what you ought to want.

But I've never been one for following crowds,

If everyone's barking, I don't need to shout.

See, I ain't perfect, mate, I'll tell you that straight,

I've fucked up more than once, made mistakes.

But I'd rather own my failures than pretend they're a win,

Than wear someone else's life just to fit in.

So let 'em talk,

Let 'em say what they say,

I've got my own two feet,

And I'll find my own way.

I'm not a sheep,

I don't follow the herd,

I don't need permission

To speak my own word.

You can build your fences,

You can point where I go,

But I choose my direction,

And I walk it alone.

I've been skint, I've been stressed, I've been flat on me arse,

Had weeks where getting through the day felt hard.

Bills on the table, head full of noise,

Still got up in the morning and I made that choice.

I've seen mates lose themselves trying to numb their pain,

Couple lines, couple pills, couple drinks, same game.

And I'm not gonna judge 'em, life's complicated,

But I know what I want and I won't be persuaded.

“Go on, you'll be alright.”

Then you're waking up wondering

Where the fuck went last night?

Nah, not me.

I'd rather keep my head clear,

Face the shit I'm facing,

Know exactly why I'm here.

I don't need a chemical telling me I'm free,

Don't need a crowd telling me who I should be.

If I stumble, I'll stumble on my own two feet,

And if I rise, that's a victory that belongs to me.
