Minnesota Bound

Been saying I’m going back for years.

Truth is—

I wasn’t ready.

Maybe I finally am.

I came out west thinking I’d figure it out,

Built something real, then watched parts fall down.

Put my name on a business, put everything in,

Had some beautiful moments, had some I can’t defend.

Made money, lost money, made some bad calls,

Put holes in my own road then blamed the damn walls.

Loved hard, worked hard, sometimes lost my way,

Some things I’d do different if I could replay.

But I can’t—and maybe that’s part of the deal,

You don’t get to rewrite it, you learn how to heal.

Minnesota stayed somewhere back in my mind,

But I had things here I couldn’t just leave behind.

So did I win out west?

Did I lose?

Probably some of both if I’m telling the truth.

But I know one thing when I look around—

It’s time.

I’m Minnesota bound.

I’M MINNESOTA BOUND!

Oregon fading in the rearview now.

Some wins, some scars, some things I’m proud about,

Some things I’ll carry that I wish went different somehow.

MINNESOTA BOUND!

Let that cold air cut through me.

I don’t need a new life—

I need some room to breathe.

I ain’t running from my past,

I’m taking what I found.

Point that truck toward home—

I’M MINNESOTA BOUND!

I learned success doesn’t mean you’re alright,

You can build all day and still lose sleep at night.

You can love good people and still get things wrong,

You can look damn strong while barely holding on.

I’ve had trials, tribulations, mistakes that were mine,

Can’t blame every wrong turn on the road or the time.

But I’m done beating myself for what I can’t rearrange,

Accountability ain’t punishment—

it’s permission to change.

So give me Minnesota with the snow coming down,

Family close and familiar ground.

Give me a winter where I don’t gotta race,

A little damn quiet, a little damn space.

Maybe I leave here a little defeated.

Maybe that’s alright.

Because losing some rounds

doesn’t mean you lost the fight.

Oregon gave me things

I’ll be grateful for forever.

And some lessons I would’ve rather

never learned at all.

But they’re mine.

And I’m taking them home.

I WON SOME.

I LOST SOME.

I OWN BOTH SIDES.

MADE GOOD DECISIONS.

MADE SOME THAT COST ME TIME.

NO MORE PRETENDING

IT ALL WORKED OUT.

I’M STILL STANDING—

MINNESOTA BOUND!

I’M MINNESOTA BOUND!

Not a victory lap, not a white flag down.

Just a man who finally knows

when it’s time to turn around.

Let the snow fall hard.

Let the whole world slow.

I need some time with the people

and the place that I know.

I don’t know what’s next.

I don’t need to right now.

I’ve spent enough years

trying to figure it all out.

Some chapters end

without winning every round.

That’s alright.

I’m Minnesota bound.

I didn’t win everything out here.

I didn’t lose everything either.

I lived it.

I learned from it.

Now I’m going home.
