Better Days Ahead

Yeah, yeah

I’ve been running on empty

But I’m still moving

I woke up late with the same old problems,

Same four walls and a head full of noise.

Everybody’s got something to tell me,

Like I don’t already hear my own voice.

I used to think I was falling behind,

Watching everybody pass me by.

Now I’m just trying to keep my pace,

Take a little time and enjoy the ride.

I don’t have it all figured out,

But I’m not where I was.

And that’s enough for right now,

That’s enough for us.

I know there’s better days ahead,

Even if I can’t see them yet.

I’ve been down, I’ve been lost,

I’ve been hanging by a thread.

But I’m still here, still breathing,

Still got something left.

I know there’s better days,

Better days ahead.

Better days ahead,

Better days ahead.

I don’t know when,

But I know they’re coming next.

I’ve had nights I don’t wanna remember,

Had some mornings I wanted to skip.

Spent too much time chasing an answer,

When the whole damn time I was living in it.

I’m not saying everything’s perfect,

I still lose my mind sometimes.

But I’m learning not to ruin today

Just because I’m scared of tomorrow night.

I don’t have it all figured out,

But I’m not where I was.

And that’s enough for right now,

That’s enough for us.

I know there’s better days ahead,

Even if I can’t see them yet.

I’ve been down, I’ve been lost,

I’ve been hanging by a thread.

But I’m still here, still breathing,

Still got something left.

I know there’s better days,

Better days ahead.

So let the night come down,

Let the headlights lead the way.

I don’t need to know the ending,

I just need to make it through today.

And if I fall apart again,

I’ll put the pieces where they fit.

I’ve come too far to call it over,

I’m not done with this.

I know there’s better days ahead,

Even if I can’t see them yet.

I’ve been down, I’ve been lost,

I’ve been hanging by a thread.

But I’m still here, still breathing,

Still got something left.

I know there’s better days,

Better days ahead.

I don’t know when,

I don’t know how.

But I know there’s better days ahead now.
