Woke up right on time today

Sunlight fell the usual way

Nothing flashing on my screen

Nothing urgent, nothing mean

Made my breakfast, cleaned my place

Stared a little into space

Checked the clock at ten-oh-three

Ten-oh-four eventually

No alarms

No surprise

No new streets before my eyes

Nothing lost

Nothing late

Nothing asking me to stay

Everything’s fine, unfortunately

Nothing is wrong, inconveniently

I’ve got nowhere I have to be

Haven’t changed a single part

Maybe I came home expecting

Home to somehow feel brand new

But it’s just the way I left it

Every corner, every view

…How incredibly rude.
