Shovel and Dig

Shovel and Dig

My actions don’t track together

At least to the path of my word

So I cover as best I can those most ugly

To hide what won’t disappear

Shovel and dig

And dig and shovel

Shovel and dig

And dig and shovel

Shovel and dig

And dig and shovel

To hide what won’t disappear

I’m only piling on fear

Is anything really hidden

The more I shovel and dig

I’m scared I might only be

Piling on fear

Am I slaving away to fear?

Is anything really hidden

The more I shovel and dig

Am I slaving away to fear?

I’m scared I might only be

Piling on fear

Trying as hard as I might

To hide what won’t disappear

I’m slaving away to fear

It’s tiring and thirsty work

Slaving away to fear

My actions don’t track together

At least to the path of my word

So I shovel and dig

And dig and shovel

Slaving away to fear

Isn’t that scary to think

It’s scary to think of this

Tiring and thirsty work

Shovel and dig

And dig and shovel

Shovel and dig
