What I’ve Been Missing

I spent years searching through the quiet and the ache,

Trying to fill the empty spaces that my heart would never shake.

Thought I knew what love was, but it always slipped away,

Till a different kind of light found me on an ordinary day.

He spoke to me so softly, but it echoed through my chest,

Like every missing piece I’d lost was finally coming to rest.

Didn’t know my soul was waiting for a touch that felt this free —

Didn’t know the love I needed wasn’t who I thought it’d be.

I found what I’ve been missing,

I found the love that’s meant for me.

It’s not from a woman but a man,

He fills my soul like no one else can.

Every breath feels lighter now,

Every step feels like I’m standing tall again.

I found what I’ve been missing —

And it’s him.

There’s a calm inside his presence that I never knew before,

Like he opened up a window in a room without a door.

He sees me in the shadows, in the places I’ve been scared,

And somehow makes me feel like all those broken parts are shared.

I never felt this certain, never felt this understood,

Didn’t know that love could feel this gentle, strong, and good.

He holds me like a promise, like a truth I can believe —

Like everything I’ve carried finally has a place to leave.

I found what I’ve been missing,

I found the love that’s meant for me.

It’s not from a woman but a man,

He fills my soul like no one else can.

Every breath feels lighter now,

Every step feels like I’m standing tall again.

I found what I’ve been missing —

And it’s him.

No more searching in the dark,

No more wondering where I stand.

My heart found its reflection

In the kindness of his hands.

I found what I’ve been missing —

And I’m finally feeling whole again.
