Verse 1
Every Sunday morning I'd sit in my place,
Lift my hands high but never seek His face,
Knew all the stories, knew amazing grace,
But I never surrendered, I just played the faith.
Had a Bible sitting by my bed,
Read Revelation but I shrugged instead,
"There's always tomorrow," was what I said,
Now tomorrow's gone and the saints have fled.
Pre-Chorus
The streets are still and the air feels thin,
The truth I ignored is settling in,
The ones who were ready are gone with Him,
And I know where my compromise led me in.
Chorus
I thought I had time, I thought I was fine,
Thought I could wait till the end of the line,
Now the moon burns red and the sun won't shine,
And every sign is falling right in line.
I thought I had time, I thought I'd survive,
Now I face the truth I tried to hide,
The King came back and I missed my ride,
And I know exactly why I'm left behind.
Verse 2
The sky turns black where the daylight stood,
The earth shakes hard like I knew it would,
Famine in the cities, plague in the woods,
Every page of Revelation proving true for good.
Wars break out and the nations fall,
Fear runs deep through the crowded halls,
Empty shelves and desperate calls,
And nobody can stop what is coming for all.
Bridge
The seals are opened, the judgments begin,
The trumpets sound over a world in sin,
The bowls pour out and the darkness rolls in,
And the wrath of God falls again and again.
I knew the warnings, every page,
Heard every sermon from age to age,
I knew the truth but I loved delay,
Now I stand in the shadow of judgment day.
Final Chorus
I thought I had time, that's the lie I bought,
Sold eternity cheap for the things I sought,
Now the stars fall down and the world is caught,
In the holy judgment everybody forgot.
I thought I had time, now the time is gone,
And the night grows darker as it marches on,
Wish I'd followed Christ when He called me home,
Now I face this valley on my own.
Outro
(Music strips away. Distant loud thunder noises.)
Jesus...
Forgive me.
I knew the signs.
I knew the truth.
I thought I had more time.
Now the beast is rising.
The world is bowing.
The pressure is growing.
And every day gets harder than the last.
Give me strength to endure.
Give me courage to stand.
Give me faith when fear takes hold.
And if it costs me everything...
Don't let me deny You again.
(Spoken, narrator)
"Look, I am coming soon! Blessed are those who obey the words of prophecy written in this book."
(Silence.)
Narrator (whisper):
"I should have listened..."
