Still Thankful

I’m too blessed to let stress complicate my life

Getting back to God who gave me life

Being broke, close to homeless, opened up my eyes

Now I see a better future every time I visualize

Been down too long, took too many losses

Had to boss up, count the cost and cross it

Too many sleepless nights, I slept alone

This road gets heavy, but I walk it on my own

I know where I’ve been, I know what it took

Every scar I carry tells a story in the book

They can talk about me, but they don’t know the test

I made it through the storm, now I’m standing blessed

I’m still thankful to say I’m blessed

Ain’t a thing y’all can ever tell me

I celebrate who I am today

And how far I’ve come, how far I’ve come

I’ma keep shining, let ’em speak on my name

I remember cold days, counting every dollar

Trying to keep faith when the road got harder

Had my back against the wall, still I stood tall

Lost a lot of people, but I didn’t lose it all

They don’t know the shoes I walked in to get here

They don’t know the nights I faced my deepest fear

Every setback showed me what I’m made of

Now I thank God for the life I’m waking up to
