Not an Option

NOT AN OPTION

Verse 1

I gave you everything I had,

Even pieces I should’ve kept,

Changed my ways to keep the peace,

Lost myself with every step.

You told me who I should become,

Like who I was just wasn’t enough,

I kept bending till I broke,

Thinking bending still was love.

Pre-Chorus

You can knock me down,

You can watch me hit the ground,

But there’s something you forgot—

I know Who I am now

Chorus

I’m not an option,

I’m not somebody you choose

When the other doors stop opening

And you’ve got nothing left to lose.

You can try to hurt me,

Try to change the man I am, Good luck

But When I fall

now I finally understand.

I can love you and still walk away,

Because I’m not an option for you Anymore

Not an option Anymore

Verse 2

You knew exactly where it hurt,

And sometimes that’s where you’d aim,

Then you’d tell me I was different,

While you were asking me to change.

I stopped recognising the reflection,

Trying to be what you could love,

But if I have to lose myself for you,

Then I’ve already lost enough.

You can knock me down,

You can watch me hit the ground,

But there’s something you forgot—

I know Who I am now

Chorus

I’m not an option,

I’m not somebody you choose

When the other doors stop opening

And you’ve got nothing left to lose.

You can try to hurt me,

Try to change the man I am, Good luck

But When I fall

now I finally understand.

I can love you and still walk away,

Because I’m not an option for you Anymore

Not an option Anymore

Bridge

I fell.

I broke.

I learned what I could take.

I stood.

I grew.

I learned from every mistake.

And getting back up doesn’t mean

That none of it was real.

It means I finally understand

I don’t need you to choose me

To know exactly what I feel.

Final Chorus

I’m not an option,

I’m not somebody you choose

When the other doors stop opening

And you’ve got nothing left to lose.

You can try to hurt me,

Try to change the man I am, Good luck

But When I fall

now I finally understand.

I can love you and still walk away,

Because I’m not an option for you Anymore

Yeah, I fell hard,

But I got back up again.

And I won’t become somebody else

Just to make somebody stay.

I still know who I am.

I still know what I’m worth.

You watched me hit the ground—

Now watch me rise from the dirt.

Outro

I wasn’t your option.

You weren’t my end.

I lost myself loving you—

Now I’m finding me again.
