Dancing With My Problems

Went out on a date without telling my dad,

Now he's mad at me and I could be sad.

But it could always be worse,

I keep telling myself,

So I dance with my problems

And grab my purse off the shelf.

Some days come crashing

Like a runaway train,

Some days bring sunshine,

Some days bring rain.

But when life starts laughing

And nothing goes right,

I turn up the music

And step into the night.

Yeah, I dance with my problems

And put them down in verse.

I dance with my problems

'Cause they could always be worse.

If life throws me trouble,

Well, I know what to do—

I put on my dancing shoes

And dance my way through.

I drive to the mall

Just looking for a dress,

Somebody hits my car

And now it's kind of a mess.

It could always be worse,

I keep telling myself,

Some days come crashing

Like a runaway train,

Some days bring sunshine,

Some days bring rain.

But when life starts laughing

And nothing goes right,

I turn up the music

And step into the night.

So I dance with my problems

Like an elf on the shelf!

Yeah, I dance with my problems

And put them down in verse.

I keep dancing with my problems

'Cause they could always be worse.

Verse 3

I spill my coffee on my brand-new shirt,

Miss the bus and make myself late for work.

Then my phone falls down and the screen goes black,

I turn around and there's a flat tire in the back.

It could always be worse,

I keep telling myself,

So I laugh at my luck

And put my worries on the shelf.

Some days come crashing

Like a runaway train,

Some days bring sunshine,

Some days bring rain.

But when life starts laughing

And nothing goes right,

I turn up the music

And step into the night.

So I dance with my problems,

Yeah, I dance with my blues.

They may be my problems,

But I get to choose

Whether I let them knock me down

Or make me sing this song.

So dance with your problems—

And dance right along!

Dancing with my problems

Doesn't make them go away,

But somehow they become my friends

And get me through the day.

They may follow me around,

But I don't have to run—

If I've gotta have problems,

I might as well have fun!

Some days come crashing

Like a runaway train,

Some days bring sunshine,

Some days bring rain.

But when life starts laughing

And nothing goes right,

I turn up the music

And step into the night.

So I dance with my problems,

Yeah, I dance with my blues.

They may be my problems,

But I get to choose

Whether I let them knock me down

Or make me sing this song.

So dance with your problems—

And dance right along!
