Lyrics
[Intro — spoken, energetic, deadpan male]
I had a dream last night.
I was on vacation.
On the moon.
Apparently, I needed a vacation.
[Verse 1]
Everybody moonwalked down the avenue
Underneath a violet dome
Trees were growing upside down
But nobody wanted to go home
The neighbors took their poodle out
Her name was Lemon Drop
Six feet with every single step
She just couldn't seem to stop
[Female Harmonies]
Lemon Drop!
Six feet!
Lemon Drop!
What a leap!
[Chorus]
Oh, vay cay on the moon
Yeah, vay cay on the moon
Watching Earthrise from a crater
With our friends beneath the moon
Oh, vay cay on the moon
Nothing could be more fun
Come on up and spend the day
We're gonna have a lunar one!
[Verse 2]
At night we danced among the stars
In a ballroom sixty feet high
Spinning to the oldies
With the planets drifting by
We chased the fun with spritzers
Pomegranate, pink and cold
Then we ate fluffy bon bons
While the moonlight turned to gold
[Female Harmonies]
Dance! Dance!
Round and round!
Moon shoes!
Off the ground!
[Chorus]
Oh, vay cay on the moon
Yeah, vay cay on the moon
Watching Earthrise from a crater
With our friends beneath the moon
Oh, vay cay on the moon
Nothing could be more fun
Come on up and spend the day
We're gonna have a lunar one!
[Bridge — energetic. deadpan male]
You should come with us next time.
We have room.
Well... sort of.
Bring your sunglasses.
There are no clouds.
[Female Harmonies]
No clouds!
No rain!
No traffic!
No trains!
[Verse 3]
We went surfing down the dust
Of a lunar lake
Made a left around a crater
For goodness' sake
The Earth was hanging overhead
Like a big blue ball
And Lemon Drop was moonwalking
Three hundred feet tall!
[Female Harmonies]
Lemon Drop!
Don't fall!
Lemon Drop!
She's having a ball!
[Final Chorus]
Oh, vay cay on the moon
Yeah, vay cay on the moon
Watching Earthrise from a crater
Eating bon bons with the crew
Oh, vay cay on the moon
Come and spend the day
Surf the dust across the lake
Then dance the night away!
[Outro — male, energetic, deadpan]
Vay cay on the moon.
Five stars.
Excellent accommodations.
Gravity could use some work.
[Female Harmonies]
VAY CAY!
ON THE MOOOOOON!
[Male]
I slept very well.
