The Road to Damascus

(spoken intro)

I Saul,was walking in the wrong direction,

Certain I was right, but blind to the truth.

I thought I was serving You,

But I was fighting the very One I needed.

Then a light from heaven broke through my darkness, on my way to Damascus.

And a voice called out my name:

"Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"

In that moment, everything changed.

The man I thought I knew as my enemy

Was the Lord I had been searching for.

Jesus, one encounter with You

Changed my life forever!

I was running with a heart of stone,

Chasing the truth, but I was all alone.

I raised my hands against Your name,

Yet Your mercy called me just the same.

On the road to Damascus, heaven came down,

Your glorious light turned me around.

I fell to my knees, I could not see,

But in my blindness, You rescued me.

You called my name, You broke my pride,

Your grace was there, I could not hide.

The voice I heard, the light I saw,

Was Jesus Christ, my risen Lord!

When I met You on the road,

My heart was changed, my eyes were opened.

Jesus, You turned my life around,

Your amazing grace has brought me out.

I was lost, but now I'm found,

Your love has turned my world around.

I will never be the same again,

Jesus, forever, I'll praise Your name!

Who are You, Lord?" I cried that day,

"I'm Jesus, whom you persecute," You said.

The risen Savior, the Son of God,

The One I'd fought was my living Lord.

Three days in darkness, waiting on You,

Not knowing what You would lead me to.

Then Ananias came, by faith he prayed,

The scales fell off; my sight was restored.

You called my name, You broke my pride,

Your grace was there, I could not hide.

The voice I heard, the light I saw,

Was Jesus Christ, my risen Lord!

When I met You on the road,

My heart was changed, my eyes were opened.

Jesus, You turned my life around,

Your amazing grace has brought me out.

I was lost, but now I'm found,

Your love has turned my world around.

I will never be the same again,

The persecutor became Your own,

A chosen vessel before Your throne.

The lips that spoke against Your name

Now preach the cross, the risen King!

No past too dark, no sin too great,

Your grace can reach and transform a life.

From persecutor to apostle sent,

I'll spend my days proclaiming Your name!

You stopped me on the road,

You called me by my name.

You took away my blindness,

And set my heart aflame.

The life I live is Yours,

My purpose, Lord, is Yours.

Where You send me, I will go,

Jesus, lead me as I follow!

When I met You on the road,

Jesus, You turned my life around,

Your amazing grace has brought me out.
