Let Me Do My Job

Let Me Do My Job

It’s Kayla…

Did you hear that, bitch!?

Yeah, Joy…

This one’s for you.

I walk through the door, put my game face on,

Ready for the day, then here you come.

A simple little task turns into a fight,

You change the damn plan, then say I did it wrong.

I keep my cool while you push my nerves,

Doing twice the work while you watch and smirk.

You talk and talk while I carry the load—

Well, listen up, Joy, ’cause I’m ready to explode!

I’ve held it in, I’ve played it nice,

You’ve pushed my patience one too many times.

Now turn that amp up, let it scream—

You’re gonna hear what you do to me!

Joy, why you gotta make it harder?

Every damn day, you’re pushing farther.

I came to work, but you came to start it—

Bitch, back up and let me do my job!

Joy, you can keep on talking,

I’ll keep these boots on the floor and walking.

You don’t get to break me down—

Kayla…standing her ground!

You give me ten steps when it should take two,

Then stand there asking why I’m not through.

One minute it’s this, next minute it’s that,

Girl, make up your mind and quit the act.

I’ve got patience, but it ain’t endless,

I’m too damn strong to be defenseless.

You can roll your eyes and run that mouth,

But I’m done letting you wear me down!

I’m taking back my peace…

Taking back my day…

You don’t get to decide

How much I bend or break.

HEY, JOY!

GET OUT OF MY WAY!

Joy, why you gotta make it harder?

Every damn day, you’re pushing farther.

I came to work, but you came to start it—

Bitch, back up and let me do my job!

Joy, you can keep on talking,

I’ll keep these boots on the floor and walking.

You don’t get to break me down—Kayla… is standing her ground!

Did you hear that, bitch?

Good.

Now let me do my job.
