Somewhere Along the Way

Another station, another street

Another pair of tired feet

I know the sound of leaving well

Better than the places where I’ve stayed

I keep my jacket by the door

I never unpack anymore

There’s something strange about a room

When you already know you’ll leave it soon

Maybe I’m not lost

Maybe I just don’t know

What I’m looking for

So I’ll keep going

Somewhere along the way

Maybe I’ll find a place

That makes me wanna stay

I’ve seen a thousand windows

Lighting up at night

And sometimes I still wonder

What it feels like on the other side

But I’m still moving

And for now, I guess that’s fine

Maybe home is somewhere

I just haven’t found this time

I know the cafés open late

The empty roads, the morning trains

I know which cities never sleep

And which ones barely make a sound

Sometimes I walk without a plan

Just to see where I might land

It’s easier when no one knows

How long you’re planning to be around

Maybe I’m not lost

Maybe there’s nowhere

I’m supposed to be

So I’ll keep going

You don’t have to move along

And if I ever find it

I hope I’ll recognize

The moment I stop looking

For the next place I can hide

Still, I’ll keep going

Maybe I’ll find a reason

To finally wanna stay

Maybe one day there’ll be one

That feels like it could be mine

Until that happens

I’ll follow every line

Maybe home is somewhere
