PEOPLE WANNA TALK

You ever heard a rumor about you.

People wanna talk, talk, talk their talk,

Running their mouths every time I walk,my walk.

Heard a little rumor, heard it down the block,

Everybody's got a story, everybody's got a thought.

They say, “Did you hear what they been saying about you?”

I laughed like, “Yeah, I heard it too.”

But if I chased every rumor that somebody threw,

I'd spend my whole life trying to prove what ain't true.

I got better things to do, got a life to live,

Got dreams in my pocket and more love to give.

While they counting my steps, I'm counting my wins,

Let 'em talk, let 'em talk,

Let 'em run that mouth around the clock.

I don't lose sleep over sidewalk news,

People wanna talk, talk, talk their talk,

And wanna ask if I heard about the rumors going around.

I laughed and said, “Yeah.”

But I don't care.

You got men on their periods, acting like little bitches,

You got women gossiping like it's Channel Six news.

Everybody got opinions, everybody got a view,

But I ain't got the time to be concerned with you.

Somebody said this, somebody said that,

Somebody's always got their nose in my business.

They remix the story, and then tell lies.

By the time it gets to me, damn, they told it three times.

I could call them out, i'm not gonna

Give 'em more ammunition and something else to chew.

So I smile, keep walking, let 'em do what they do,

'Cause the loudest little rumors don't make 'em true.

I'm too busy building something they can't see,

Too busy becoming a higher version of me.

While they're sitting in the bleachers talking about my game,

I'm already on the field and they're still saying my name.
