COASTING

(Intro)

I spent my whole life…

Trying to get somewhere.

Maybe I was already there.

(Verse 1)

Another sunrise through the windshield,

Another song I’ve heard before.

Funny how the older I get…

The less I’m keeping score.

Used to think I’d have it figured out,

By twenty-five or twenty-six.

Turns out life’s just waking up…

And dealing with your shit.

(Pre-Chorus)

And maybe…

That’s alright.

(Chorus)

I’m just coasting…

Feet up on the dashboard tonight.

No destination, no expectations…

Just trying to enjoy the ride.

I’m just coasting…

Watching all the lights go by.

If this is all there is…

I think I’m alright.

(Verse 2)

I’ve spent too many nights overthinking,

Too many days chasing ghosts.

Worrying about where I’m going…

Missing where I was the most.

Maybe happiness ain’t something

You find at the end of the road.

Maybe it’s just learning…

To let go.

(Bridge)

Tomorrow’s gonna come…

Whether I worry or not.

So tonight…

I’m giving my mind the night off.

(Final Chorus)

I’m just coasting…

For the first time in a while.

No regrets, no second guessing…

Just a quiet state of mind.

I’m just coasting…

Till the morning meets the sky.

And if somebody asks…

Tell ‘em I’m doing fine.

(Outro)

I spent my whole life…

Trying to get somewhere.

Maybe I was already there.
