Emergency Contact

Verse 1

Some days I wake up carrying tomorrow on my back,

Trying to outrun worries I can’t outrun.

I’ve spent too many nights staring at the ceiling,

Wondering if the sunrise is ever gonna come.

I’ve measured my life by money, by progress, by plans,

By all the things I still don’t have.

Then I hear that quiet reminder—

“You’ve always been more than that.”

Pre-Chorus

You knew me before my first breath,

Before my first mistake.

You never asked me to have all the answers,

Only faith.

Chorus

Don’t let me treat You like an emergency call,

Only reaching out when my whole world falls.

I wanna know Your voice before the thunder rolls,

Before I’m hanging onto hope by a thread alone.

Be the first name on my lips every morning I wake,

Not just the One I run to when everything breaks.

Teach my heart to walk with You through it all…

Don’t let me only call.

Verse 2

I’ve prayed the hardest with an empty bank account,

Or when my mind wouldn’t quiet down at night.

But on the days when life feels steady,

I forget to thank You for the light.

You’re not just God inside the valleys,

You’re still God on the mountain too.

I don’t want a faith that’s built on panic,

I want a life that’s built on You.

Pre-Chorus

So when the road gets heavy,

Or when the skies are clear,

Help me remember You’re just as close

In every season here.

Bridge

You don’t love me less when I wander,

You don’t leave when I lose my way.

You’ve been standing at the door with open arms,

Even on the nights I didn’t pray.

So if You’re writing every chapter,

Help me trust the pages I can’t see.

I don’t just need You in my hardest moments—

I need You in the ordinary.

Final Chorus

Don’t let me treat You like an emergency call,

Like You’re only there to catch my fall.

Be in every sunrise, every quiet prayer,

Every thankful breath, every answered fear.

When the road is easy, let my faith stay the same.

When the storm is over, let me still praise Your name.

I don’t wanna love You only when life gets hard…

I wanna give You all my heart.

So be the first name on my lips every day I wake…

Not just the One I call when everything breaks.
